Haven't posted in awhile!

I am sorry I haven't posted anything substantial in a while. But I didn't want to be a Debbie Downer or Negative Nelly. I have applied for many jobs over the last few weeks from many I don't hear anything until you get the general rejection letter through email. The one I am most mad hurt about is a interview I had with my own district. I have been with my district for almost 2 years doing sm. group intervention, summer school and before/after school tutoring. I have gone above and beyond in everything I do. I was told after my interview that I didn't have enough classroom experience.

Anyways............. yes it makes me angry to think that was I do is NOT valuable enough experience for them to give me a job in a classroom. I am to the point that I know that I will go no where in the district that I am in and have to find greener pastures. Until then I will continue to look for a job and continue to do my job well.

Packaways Review

I don't have an organizational gene in my body. It is not on my top list of priorities. In my eyes I have better things to do than have everything organized at home. Now my classroom is a different story. Everything has its place. I received  my Packaways last week. When I opened the box I had gotten the green and pink ones. LOVE the colors!

I typically use plastic storage totes to store my teaching stuff when not using it, they can be a pain to store when they are empty. Packaways are a brand new storage tote made of corrugated plastic that fold away flat when not in use.

They fold flat when not in use!! Makes for very easy storage!

The flap you see fold down and locks into place to make a strong bottom!

I LOVE, LOVE that you can write on them with a dry erase marker! So you know what you packed in the box.

Packaways are made from corrugated plastic and are resistant against water and humidity. These storage boxes are also proudly made in the USA. Whether you're looking to help your child organize their room, organize your own space, or need some durable options for moving - Packaways has got you covered!

- I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

The Best Pencil Sharpener EVER!!!!!

Have you ever seen this pencil sharpener?

Groovy Green

It is aaaamazzzzing!!

I have always had a love/hate relationship with pencil sharpeners.  Troy from Classroom Friendly Supplies graciously sent me The Quietest Classroom Pencil Sharpener to review. Troy is a primary school teacher so he knows a thing or two about the trials and tribulations of pencil sharpening. Many teachers like me struggle with finding a great pencil sharpener that works every time, easy to use and kid friendly!

In Title 1 we have a treat tub and always inside it are pencils from the dollar stores. The kids love them but they typically do NOT sharpen well in the run of the mill pencil sharpner. Well the green beauty above did a WONDERFUL job at sharpening each and every holiday, felt, and glitter pencil that I tried. It even did a great job on the colored pencils that I tried too.

It's quiet! It's quick! And Sharp!

Look at how sharp the points are!!!

My son LOVES this pencil sharpner! He was sad when I took it into my classroom yesterday!

You should head right over and check out Classroom Friendly Supplies and get your own today!

Stressful Situations & Friday Letters

Today was one heck of a day. After working with my sweet little darlings this morning I was on my way home and witnessed something you don't ever wanna see happen to anyone. I watched a teenage girl get hit by a car while on her bike. I immediately slammed the car into park and called 911 and screamed to the other witness "DO NOT MOVE HER" (Thank gawd he listened) As I was on the phone with 911 (They had to transfer  me from the state police to the local police) I noticed a police car just up the road. I started Jumping up & down waving my arms to get his attention (It worked).

While waiting for the fire department and Ambulance the girls brother comes down to see what is going on (they live right there) and see's that it is his sister that was hit by a car. He starts screaming at the lady that hit her. Not so nice things and threatening her with "you'll be sorry you did this", "I am 23 and I have never hit anyone" ect.. The medic's and police sent him away! He calls the father and the father comes down  and is angry! He is more angry then trying to help his daughter. With everyone preoccupied with the daughter he mouths to the driver "You will be sorry for what you have done, I will make sure of it." I had to immediately tell the officer I was scared for the driver. I did get some news about the girl she is going to be ok! They are keeping her overnight for observation.

To the driver's defense- I did not see the girl on the bike either until the driver hit her. She came out from behind a big full size pick-up truck to cross the road.  And she had NO helmet on!

I thank gawd for my first aid and cpr training that enabled me to keep calm in such a stressful situation.

How do you think that you would have been able to handle the situation?
